Personnel from Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company and Loudoun County Fire and Rescue traveled to Appleton, Wisconsin for three days in March to complete the final inspection on a 2019 Pierce Arrow XT Tiller Truck with a 107 foot Ascendant aerial ladder. The Tiller is 58 1/2 feet long with a 525 horsepower Detroit Diesel DD13 engine and an Allison 4500 EVS transmission. It seats seven firefighters and carries over 300 feet of ground ladders, an assortment of forcible entry tools, ventilation fans and portable scene lights, emergency medical equipment, and swift water rescue equipment. The photos (coming soon) and videos (coming soon) reflect the time and effort taken to check every facet of the newly constructed tiller truck in daylight and night-time conditions. During a highway road test, we stopped by Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin to take a few pictures in front of the stadium.
